Gardening, Adoption Social & Farewell Party

Today was a great day...

Last night Ethan & I went to Wal-mart for fabric softener sheets & left with three pepper plants (red, yellow & green) and two tomato plants large yellow & red tomatoes, you know the ones that are great on burgers. I think that is mostly how it goes at Wal-mart, you go in for one thing and leave with three different things!

So, this morning we started the day with planting a small garden by the shed. We also have a hanger bag with eight cherry tomato plants and I planted a row of sunflowers on the back fence line. It will be great to be able to work in the garden & have yummy food this summer.

After a couple hours of napping we headed off to the first adoption social for our adoption group, God's heart - our hands adoption ministry. We had four families there representing 1 private domestic adoption, 2 children adopted from Russia, 1 little girl we are praying home from Korea, and our family that has a heart and calling for adoption, just waiting on God to give us the green light to start. The kids had a great time playing and the adults had a great time of fellowship. We even got to play, too...kite flying, swinging, & sliding!

After a couple of minutes to refresh we headed to our friend Tammy's house for a farewell party for the Booker family. They are getting transferred to Ft. Gordon and leave in a week...we will miss them so much...they are such kindred spirits and it has been such a blessing to have them in our lives. There were tons of church friends there and we had a wonderful spread of food & a great time to visit!

We ended the day with Ethan pulling a tooth. So, tonight the tooth fairy will have to stop in:) Guess I better go for now...good night & have a blessed Sunday of worship tomorrow.

  2. We love the Ragsdale's blog! Ethan, you lost #8 tooth... hope you got a gift from the tooth fairy. Did you help mom with the garden? Did Isaiah like playing in the dirt?
So glad to hear you are serving the Lord. We will keep checking the blog each week to see what you're up to.
    Love you all,
    Nana & Grandpa

  3. We love the Ragsdale blog!
I need you to teach me how to set one of these up. Ethan I can't believe you've lost 8 teeth. Hope the tooth fairy was good to you.
Gardening is fun, to watch the Lord take those dead seeds and make beautiful plants out of them with yummy veggies on them. I was playing in the dirt Sat, cleaning out the weeds to get it ready for some tomato plants. Did Isaiah play in the dirt?
So glad you all are walking with the Lord. We are so thankful for that. I'll be checking back soon.
    Love to you all,
    Nana
